A Life Worth Saving- website set up by the friends of SOMPORN

<body> <p> Welcome to the website set up by the friends of SOMPORN. </p> <p> Somporn is a 22-year old young man who was living and working in Bangkok. He is originally from the Isaan region in northeast Thailand. In late January, Somporn (aka Porn or Pon) was suddenly admitted to the ICU at a Bangkok hospital and diagnosed with kidney failure. Somporn was gravely ill - the doctors advised that his only options were dialysis followed by kidney transplant. But since his family did not have the money (approx. 200,000 baht), the doctors essentially sent him home to die. By the time we tracked him down at home in Nong Bualamphu, he was in a bad way. But through the marvellous help of Dr Jureerat and Dr Philippe Seur in Chonburi and Pattaya, a place was found for him at Chonburi Hospital near Pattaya. He finally arrived there on March 2 and has commenced regular dialysis. He's still very ill, but he is getting stronger every day.
